Chocolate Chip Banana Oat Bars

These soft and chewy Banana Oatmeal Bars are the perfect healthy snack for kids! Made with ripe bananas, oats, peanut butter, and chocolate chips, they’re naturally sweetened, easy to make in one bowl, and ideal for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, or quick breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter smooth or crunchy
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  • Stir in the peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Add oats, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Mix until a thick batter forms.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  • Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Nut-free: Swap peanut butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini.
  • Add-ins: Mix in chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or dried fruit for extra texture.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
